Ministry and University agreed on its´potential to support the translation of the clients needs and wishes into architecture and facilitated the interdisciplinary communication. DESIGN FOR CHILDREN OF PARENTS WITH CANCER

The Institute of Applied Psychology in Architecture & Health, an affiliate of kopvol, received a grant for a 2-years project to design a virtual consulting space for children and parents who are concerned with cancer. The project is done in cooperation with the University of Applied Science in Darmstadt, monks IT and the German film director Gabriela Zerhau. The project is part of the German speaking research and development program 'Psychooncology Online'.

DUTCH DESIGN TEAM GOES GERMANY
On invitation of the clinical CEO of the Freiburg University Childrens Hospital the Dutch Design team presents its design for the RUN (room for development, upgrowth and normality) in Freiburg. Kopvol was asked by Bright Housing Company to develop a variety of facades for their innovative construction principle to do away with this preconcep-tion and reflect the living quality of the open and flexible interiors.

kopvol was invited expert in the expertmeeting on Research by Design organized by the Dutch Creative Industries Fund. Other experts/ designers: Paul Rutten, Lauran Schijvens, Egbert Stolk, Marco van Hout, Aglaée Degros, Mathilde Peen, Steven Delva, Ramon Knoester, Jolan van der Wiel, Ekim Tan, Gerwin de Vries, Tim de Boer, Maarten Tas, Nazanin Hedayati and director Janny Rodermond. Architecture as 2nd body was one of the 4 'best practice' projects that were analysed for further development of Research by Design approach and methods.
COMPETITION ENTRIES OF THE EUROPEAN TENDER
kopvol evaluated the competition entries on the quality criteria that were developed beforehand for the new Children University Hospital Freiburg. Never before quality criteria referring to Healing Architecture and patient centred care were part of a competition assessment in Germany. The jury, chaired by prof. Hans Nickl and Rolf Sutter, Financial President of the Building Ministery of Baden Württemberg selected 4 designs to be further developed.
