WISSENSCHAFTS-KONSORTIUM
ARCHITEKTUR & GLOBALE GESUNDHEIT

05.07.2019
Gemma Koppen; Prof. Dr. Werner Lang; Prof. Dr. Prazeres da Costa; Prof. Dr. Tanja C. Vollmer; Prof. Dr. Dr. Andrea Winkler

HEALTH CAMPUS KLINIK ARLESHEIM
KOPVOL BUILDS IN CH

11.09.2018
The cradle of anthroposofic medicine will get a new building. The Swiss-Dutch consortium of the offices Metron and Kopvol had the upper hand with their proposal against twelve international competitors. The jury states: "only they related to the patients and their origin. The spatial form promotes the healing process. We are convinced that the construction of Arlesheim's new clinic will be a role model, something that does not exist in Swiss health architecture".

NEW BOOK RELEASE
PERCEPTION OF ARCHITECTURE

15.01.2018
In their chapter on stress-related architectural perception of the severely and chronically ill, Vollmer and Koppen deal with the perceptual peculiarities that arise when we fall ill. The authors consider the cascade of dependencies in their model of spatial anthropodysmorphism in a scientifically precise and equally personal way. They derive meaningful implications for a novel healthcare architecture.
