KPN Group Belgium, today BASE, a daughter company of the Dutch telecommunications group Koninklijke KPN, is a network provider in constant competition with the major telecommunications giants. With a market share of 25 percent, KPN Group Belgium continuously invests in its network to keep pace with the rapid growth in data traffic and the demands of new technologies. The most important pacemaker is a healthy, motivating working environment for employees in all departments. In order to address this aspect, the management decides to reorganize the headquarters in Brussels, including an architectural redesign. Kopvol, together with the Academy for Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR Rotterdam, is commissioned to undertake this project.
The design of the new working environment includes maintaining an open office concept while creating new retreat and concentration areas, interactive discussion rooms, customer exchange areas and more flexible creative areas. The previously rigid office structure is being transformed into an architecturally supported vibrant working world that implements the company’s networking concept in design and at the same time supports employees in their individual working methods.
