EMTEC. HOSPITAL CONCEPTS
Particularly in the healthcare sector, very specific requirements are demanded of architecture. The spectrum of uses and typologies in healthcare design is broader than in other building design projects and ranges from hospital buildings, healthcare and medical care centers, hospices, rehabilitation facilities, senior care and nursing homes to intergenerational living concepts. Clinicians, physicians, engineers and architects must work hand in hand to take all structural, medical and economic factors into account during the planning process. New disciplines such as architectural psychology have recently been expanding and complementing the planning process. In his recent publication `Back to the Future. Der Mensch im Mittelpunkt?` the Institute for Consulting, Training and Technologies in Healthcare, emtec e.V., together with twenty experts, looks back on its own history and forward to the history of healthcare buildings, which urgently needs to be written.
