Salon Suisse, the cultural supporting programme of the Swiss Pavilion, looks back on a tradition-rich culture of discussion, which is one of the intellectual highlights of the Architecture Biennale in Venice. In 2020, under the title ‘ Physical Encounters – A Multi-Sensory Approach to Architecture’, numerous questions will be at the center of the experts’ attention: How can we design spatial gestures that welcome us? How do buildings trigger illnesses such as phobias, anxiety and discomfort, or to what extent can they establish friendly relationships with their inhabitants? How can architecture improve social, cultural, spatial and economic integration for different population groups in our society?
